HARPENDEN NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHER - Welcoming baby Rai
A relaxed family newborn photoshoot at home - Harpenden Newborn Photographer
A celebration of those first few days as a family of four, capturing Baby Rai surrounded by her family in the dappled summer light, pure magic. With your first newborn baby (Mums to be - please take my word and permission for it), that everything can slow down, it’s all completely brand new, your days are completely centred around your newborn baby and the days spent soaking them in, days of resting and nursing both you and your newborn baby. However with your second, third, fourth babe, things are a little different. It’s a bit more of a whirlwind, less time to slow down as you’re tending to the needs of your other children and quite often you’re on their schedule. It’s a HUGE adjustment for the whole family, particularly the little ones already in our lives, emotions can be a rollercoaster and it’s so important that a fuss is made of them too. That’s why my family newborn photoshoots are kept very relaxed, there’s zero time limits so nothing else is booked in on that day, you have my full attention and nurturing when you book a family photoshoot to welcome your newborn baby into the world. Suddenly your little ones also seem so much bigger when your baby arrives so I make sure to capture their little details too.

WHEN SHOULD I BOOK IN FOR A NEWBORN PHOTOSHOOT IN HERTFORDSHIRE?
I get asked this question a lot, as it’s impossible to know when little ones will arrive. For my newborn photography sessions, we pencil into my diary what’s called a floating date. I recommend we pencil a date in for the week after your ‘due date’ and then we catch up once babies here. That means we can be flexible and move the date once little one has arrived and depending on how you’re all feeling. I leave 1-2 days a week available for newborn session dates to be moved, so that we can still move your date close to the original time booked in. My diary does tend to book up months in advance, so I recommend reaching out around your 20 week point of pregnancy to check my availability and get a confirmed booking. If you’re thinking of booking a newborn photoshoot, I’d love to hear from you.
